2009 - Brad Paisley won Top Male Vocalist at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas along with Video of the Year for "Waitin' on a Woman" and Vocal Event with Keith Urban on "Start a Band." Carrie Underwood was also named ACM Entertainer of the Year.
2008 - Johnny Cash's "Hurt" came in at number one when CMT broadcasted its special, 100 Greatest Videos.
2008 Apples iTunes became the largest music retailer in the U.S., surpassing Wal-Mart in January.
2004 - Brad Paisley sang the national anthem as the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the San Diego Padres in their first home game.
2003 - Darryl Worley began a seven-week stay at number one with "Have You Forgotten?"
2000 - Trace Adkins suffered a compound fracture when a 400-pound boulder ran over his left hand at his property in middle Tennessee. He required 40 stitches.
1999 - Three of Tammy Wynette's daughters filed a $50 million lawsuit blaming the singers death on negligence by her husband and her doctor.
